We had another weekend of shooting, however I was on the injured list due to severe back pain. I was feeling well enough to show up for the Friday night shoot. We shot some stuff where the idiot brothers “learn” to con.
Saturday I woke up and realized I had over done it the night before. So, I wasn’t able to make it to the entire day of shooting on Saturday. Which was more stuff of the guys learning to con.
I did show up after sunset to help set up the first set of night shots. We didn’t have access to power but, Ryan Scott, has a small portable battery generator, for jumping your car. We ran energy efficient lights off of that to avoid sucking too much power and killing the battery before we finished shooting.
More importantly than having the battery generator, is finding locations with lots of available light. Several months ago, Ryan and I had done some scouting with our cameras and lens to see which spots would be friendly to shoot in.
Apparently right after I left, a police officer showed up and asked for permits. Luckily they had just finished the scene they were working. Ryan had gotten permits for every location except the one we shot that night. The cop booted them but they just looked around for another place to finish the shoot, which they found and finished the shoot without getting busted.
That’s just how it goes with no-budget filmmaking.
